Xena Brar (they/she)

Xena Brar is a multidisciplinary designer with interests in fabrication and experimental design. They are inspired by and pull imagery from the decorative trucks and buses of South Asia and Ecuador; their two cultural backgrounds, “Chivas” and “Jingle Trucks” as they’re known in their respective countries. The colorful, vibrant and experimental motifs on these trucks are all embedded within their work and what they reference when they first start designing.
Their design practice resides within the 2d and 3d plain, working with materials such as metal and wood to create fabricated posters or typography. Their practice lives in an experimental, ethereal dreamworld melding materials, imagery and textures while still maintaining traditional graphic design integrity. They specialize in print, event, website and branding design amongst other specialties based on client needs.
Aside from graphic design, Xena finds fun in jewlery making, metal working, risograph printing with their small press Battle Jester and tattooing. And yes, they were named after Xena The Warrior Princess.
